My Photo Culture: 'Colour My World'...

Whenever I get the chance- I love to play with photography...
I'm an amateur, I basically shoot whatever captures my mind and my imagination.

In many ways I think Culture is not unlike photography, for it's as much about how we see the world, as what we do in it, or our behaviours and attitudes within it.
And in Culture, as in photography, it's also possible for us to see and yet not see...

"While there is perhaps a province in which
the photograph can tell us nothing more than what we see with our own eyes,
there is another in which it proves to us how little our eyes permit us to see."
~Dorothea Lange (Photographer & Photojournalist)-

Understanding culture means developing an insight into more than just what meets the eye, and photography is just another way of  'training the eye', of giving it 'permission to see'.

So, every so often I'll post something here, call it 'photo culture' if you like,
but basically it's the world as I see it....
....and what a beautiful world it is!

"To me, photography is an art of observation.
It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place...
I've found it has little to do with the things you see
and everything to do with the way you see them".
- Elliott Erwitt (Documentary Photographer)-

"Sometimes I do get to places just when God's ready to have somebody click the shutter".
-Ansel Adams (Photographer & Environmentalist)-
